"True Charity Requires Courage:
Let us overcome the fear of getting our hands dirty so as to help those in need."
- Pope Francis
Did you know many children throughout Canada go without a coat each winter? Many low-income families use their scarce resources to meet the most basic essentials and they need help to provide this vital winter necessity.
That’s why the Knights of Columbus developed the Coats for Kids program, which allows councils across Canada the opportunity to purchase new winter coats for children at a discount and to distribute them to children in need in their local communities. Our Coats For Kids coats are made for cold Canadian winters and they offer a level of warmth that will stand up to the toughest temperatures.
Every Knights of Columbus council is eligible to participate in Coats for Kids. Coats can be purchased on the KOFCCOATSFORKIDS.CA website and sent to your local Council or direct to a local charity of your choice. There are 3 sets of sizes (small kids/large kids/teens) and the sets of 12 coats are broken out by Girls and Boys. The small sets are for Toddlers to grade 2, the larger kids sets are grade 3 - 7 and Teen sets are for kids from grade 8 through high school. All jackets are brand new and are designed with today's trends in mind while bing EXTRA WARM!
If your Council sponsors a Coats For Kids event - we would love to share photos! Please send the photos to support@koccoatsforkids.com and we will post them on our internal site. You can also share your success stories so that we wil have a chance to review them for publication in Columbia Magazine
